Home visits · Melbourne’s northern suburbs
Ear care at home, by the same audiologist.
The full clinic set-up, brought to your home or aged care residence. Home visits are booked by phone, so we can check your address and access and answer any questions first.
How it works
What happens on a home visit
It’s the same appointment you’d have at the clinic, in your own chair.
- 01
Call or text to book
Tell us your suburb, what’s going on with your ears and anything we should know about access or mobility. We’ll find a time that suits.
- 02
We bring the clinic to you
The video otoscope, microsuction unit and lighting come with us. All we need is a chair and a little space.
- 03
Your ears, examined on video first
You see what we see on screen before anything is done, so you know whether it’s wax or something else.
- 04
Treatment, then a second look
Microsuction clears the wax, then we check again and show you the result.
- 05
Pay at the end
Card on our portable terminal, including Apple Pay and Google Pay, cash or bank transfer. You get an itemised receipt for your health fund.
Fees
Flat fees, travel included
No call-out fee and no per-kilometre charge anywhere in our coverage area. You pay after the appointment.
Ear wax removal at home
$170Both ears, with a video examination before and after
Hearing test at home
$180A full diagnostic test at your home or residence, results explained on the day
Who it suits
When a home visit makes sense
If getting to Gladstone Park or Glenroy is hard work, we’ll come to you instead.
- Anyone who finds getting to a clinic difficult
- Aged care and retirement living residents: several can be seen in one visit
- People recovering from illness or surgery
- Families booking for a parent: we’re happy to talk with you both
Before we arrive
Getting ready
There isn’t much to do. These help the visit run smoothly.
- A chair with a firm back, and a safe space to work
- Pets secured before we arrive
- A list of medications and ear history, such as blood thinners, grommets, a perforation or ear surgery
- Optional: olive oil drops for two or three days beforehand, unless you have or might have a perforated eardrum or an ear infection
Coverage
Do we visit your suburb?
Type your suburb or postcode. Travel is included anywhere on our list.
Can I book a home visit online?
Not at the moment. Home visits are booked by phone or text so we can check the address, parking and access first. Call or text 0424 338 119.
Is it the same as a clinic appointment?
Yes: the same audiologist, the same equipment and the same examination before and after. The only difference is the fee, which includes travel.
Is there a call-out fee?
No. The home visit fee is flat across our coverage area, with no per-kilometre charge and nothing added on top.
Do you visit aged care facilities?
Yes. Give the facility name and room number when you call. Several residents can be seen in the same visit, and we can send a report to the resident’s GP where needed.
What if my suburb isn’t on the list?
Call or text 0424 338 119. It is often still possible.
Book a home visit
