Independent hearing aids

Thinking about hearing aids? Get independent advice first.

LAC isn't owned by a manufacturer or a retail chain, so any recommendation is based on your hearing test — not a sales target. Fittings are verified with real-ear measurement, and follow-up appointments are included.

How it works

From hearing test to fitting

A full hearing test first

Every hearing aid conversation starts with a diagnostic hearing test, so the advice is based on what your hearing is actually doing.

Options, explained plainly

Styles, technology levels and costs, set out side by side — including the option of no device at all if you don't need one.

Fitting with real-ear measurement

A fine probe microphone checks the sound in your own ear canal, so the settings match your prescription rather than a factory default.

A 14-day trial

Wear them at home, at work and out. If they aren’t right, return them within 14 days for a refund, apart from any custom-made parts.

Follow-up and fine-tuning

Adjustments as you get used to them, included in the fitting, with the same clinician every time.

Pricing

Quoted after your hearing test

Hearing aid costs depend on the style and technology level that suits you. After your hearing test you get a written quote covering the devices, the fitting and follow-up care, before anything is ordered.
