A standard appointment is usually around 30 minutes, although this depends on the amount and condition of the wax. If wax is causing your symptoms, removal may help, but hearing improvement is not guaranteed and a follow-up may sometimes be needed.
Most people find microsuction comfortable, although hard or impacted wax can cause some discomfort. Temporary dizziness can also occur. Let your audiologist know if you feel uncomfortable so they can pause and reassess.
